Telefocus named Avanta national Employer of the Year Award.

Telefocus, in Enterprise Way, Flitwick, was today (3 November) named Avanta’s national Employer of the Year. Claire Harrowing from Telefocus, a customer contact and marketing organisation, was presented with the Award by Nadine Dorries, MP at a ceremony at the House of Commons.

The Avanta Awards recognise individuals, and the companies that work with them, that have overcome personal, educational or health-related barriers to excel in their move from benefits into employment or entrepreneurship.

Telefocus was honoured for its dedication to providing opportunities to those on benefits, and for its commitment to staff development. Telefocus works with TNG, part of Avanta, to recruit new members of staff and over the past six months TNG has placed over 30 customers into work with Telefocus.

Telefocus has a keen understanding of equal opportunities and is pro-active with recruiting females and males from all races, cultures and backgrounds, a value that they are particularly proud of. They appreciate that new recruits may have varied levels of experience and as a result they conduct a fully paid two-week training course that enables new employees to learn and understand how the business works before starting work in the call centre.
